The more the legacy media over-sensationalizes any story to create another one of their “end of the world” scenarios, the more I understand why some of them are failing while the rest are shrinking dramatically. The “newest nothing burger” is the story of a “reporter” listening in on a meeting of the national security team discussing what was happening in Yemen—a meeting he knew he shouldn’t have been part of—and a series of communications he listened to for ten days.
This is a story of many stories within a single narrative. It is the story of a reporter who hates all things Trump and has a proven record of saying and doing way too many reckless things. It is the story of the legacy media, which has been failing for years, and why they continue to cling to their biases to the destruction of the businesses they represent. It is the story of the Democratic Party and why process matters more to Democrats than results. My effort here is to give all of us perspective; without full perspective, we can get caught by the sleight of hand that the media has become so good at. But now we know how these sleight-of-hand tricks are done with clever wordsmithing by media elites who are not willing to report the news with perspective but with bias, which is why legacy media, in every poll, is sinking lower and lower in trustworthiness.
We’ll start with Jeffrey Goldberg, Editor-in-Chief of the failing Atlantic Magazine. The Atlantic is not just a left publication but a far-left publication. Personally, I enjoy reading articles from the left perspective, but this publication is on another level, jam-packed with bias, hate, intolerance, and opinions cleverly crafted to initially appear as fact. Jeffrey has been targeting Trump since he came down the golden escalators. Digging up dirt by taking things out of context with the purpose to deceive is his craft, which he believes he must do to save his publication. Without made-up news stories, his magazine could potentially go bankrupt. However, there are many things at the start of his career that are, from my perspective, impressive, and many things he was on the right side of.
For example, while he was raised on Long Island, he went to Israel and has dual citizenship. He even served in the IDF and dealt with many conflicts with the Palestinians. He worked at many publications and seemed to avoid politics, focusing on real journalism. But something happened when he became an avid supporter of Hillary Clinton; when she lost to Trump, it was like Jeffrey sought a pound of flesh daily from Trump.
That is the thing about politics: you can simply lose your perspective and be overtaken by such anger that you can justify anything and everything. I believe this is what happened to Jeffrey. You might think you don’t know him; perhaps you don’t know him by his name or by the name of his magazine, but you know of him because of his firebrand stories.
