Listen, my children, and you shall hear
A tail of the current Paul Reveres
T’was, in the Summer of ’24,
Just a few short months before
All of the people would finally see
The sum of all fears would come to be.
Despite all the warnings throughout the land
From Orwell to Huxley, from Rothbard to Rand
The People, distracted by circus and bread
Just couldn’t get it inside their heads
That the plans of the Bad Guys, the thoroughly wicked,
Were coming together just as predicted.
Still, the warnings continued from podcasts and vids
To leaders and parents and even their kids, that
“Hard times are coming like you’ve never seen!”
But the people preferred their 50” screens.
With great perseverance, the new Paul Revere
Kept writing and speaking midst critics and jeers
Despite some success
And a smidgen of luck
The people told Paul
To shut the f--k up.

Neat to find out you have this poetic skill in addition to your prose :-)
Great rhymes! "Wicked" and "predicted" are particularly good.
I also liked the "Sum of All Fears" reference.
