As the Blow-Dried Set (MSM anchors) unnecessarily and ungrammatically tell viewers “It’s been a busy week! We have a lot to get to!” here are some stories and observations you may have missed - but shouldn’t let “slip through the cracks”.
Manhattan Murder, INK.
The graphic murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson hogged most of everybody’s A Block. From the grisly tape of the shooting to the dramatic agitation of the suspect’s entry to PD HQ, the plot thickened and thinned with every speculated bit of (alleged) evidence. I found several things interesting along the way. When showing the tape of the shooter drawing down and firing on Thompson, neither “Hands” Muir, Race-Baiter Holt, or Stuttering Baeir parentally warned, “Caution! The following scene may be disturbing/upsetting/repulsive”. There were no subsequent reports of death by Projectile Vomiting. Considering the content of all the Cops ‘n Robbers shows. what viewers they have left are finally immune to TV violence. All doubt was removed when every outlet mercifully went to freeze-frame before the perp pulled the trigger. Two of the over-paid Copy Readers didn’t get an early handle on the pronunciation of Luigi’s last name, Mangione (man-gee-OWN-e).
(Full Disclosure: Cassie and I knew Nick and some of his kids from working at his radio station, WCBM, and attending a Christmas Party at Turf Valley, the family-owned resort and golf club).
Here’s something the Networks won’t touch:
Thompson/UHC is “under Federal investigation”. Thompson allegedly told the Feds UHC wasn’t going to play the over-billing, insider-trading games (including recent Nancy Pelosi trades) any longer and would tell all as part of the investigation. That conversation took place a few days before his murder.
Regular BWW readers know I avoid ‘conspiracy theories’ unless or until they grow provable, quotable facts possibly leading to hard news. That said, fellow Substack writers have proven to be the Distant Early Warning sources for many “theories” eschewed by the MSM, only to scoop them on real stories they must eventually acknowledge. This is one of them from Peggy Traeger Tierny.
MSM’s Racist Distinctions
The travesty of another totally unnecessary Bragg perse…prosecution of ex-Marine and Good Samaritan, Daniel Penny mercifully ended, thanks to a conscientious jury. some help from a perceptive judge and an incompetent prosecutor.
Despite the hard lessons of ratings collapse via viewer desertion following their liberal Evening Bias poorly disguised as “News”, the MSM’s coverage of the jury’s Not Guilty verdict proved again the most popular anchors remain tone deaf – or brain dead - to its dwindling audience’s preference for objectivity over editorializing.
NBC’s dependably racist reader, Lester ‘2nd Place” Holt described the reaction of the “packed courtroom” to the reading of the verdict as “loud and angry, requiring officers to quickly clear the disgruntled spectators out of the courtroom.” He then segued to the scene outside where two BLM spokesmorons called for “black vigilantes”. The deceased’s father-in-absentia, Andre Zachary, put in a rare appearance to dramatically mumble “it hurts”, “the system is rigged” and “C’mon, people. Let's do something about this.” In a rare display of Journalism, Holt didn’t suggest what the “something” was but did give precious A Block time and a national platform for Zachary’s racist magniloquence, a poorly concealed call to riot and retribution. NBC and its embarrassing cable outlet, MSNBC, never pass up an opportunity to pass up an opportunity to contribute to the polarization of the country while decrying the polarization of the country.
It was somewhat surprising none of the TV outlets picked up on their Newspaper of Preference, the New York Times report…
“As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, after he punched a 67-year-old woman in the street in 2021, Jordon Neely was given free access to stable housing and health care at a treatment facility in the Bronx. He abandoned the facility after 13 days.” (NYT.com 202305/07nyr)
But “the system is rigged” is all Holt’s audience knows since his report gave time and credibility to Daddy’s racist screed.
By contrast, FOX News “Special Report” anchor, bookseller, and outrageously over-compensated Brett Bair, announced, “…the Not Guilty verdict was met with cheers and applause in the packed courthouse while outside, two BLM officials and Neely’s father spoke to a crowd of upset supporters.” Nat sound from within the courtroom and a brief clip from the three speakers allowing the viewer sufficient time to hear the incendiary rhetoric.
Notable is how NBC still reinforces its preferred prejudice regardless of their descending ratings and the For Sale sign over at MSNBC, a direct result of biased “reporting”.
Similar but different, FOX’s popular “The Five” put on a display of poor taste and hypocritical “humor” covering Penny’s Not Guilty verdict. With Jesse Watters, former Go-Fer for the FOX departed Bill O’Reilly, leading the way with his mentor’s ego-infused comments and over-arching need to hog as much spotlight as possible.
NPR, your tax dollars at waste, borrowed several pages of poor programming advice from flaccid competitor MSNBC by continuing their Blame Trump focus on everything from weather to missing Camp Woebegone.
With just 39 days until Inauguration Day, the American media, print, broadcast, and cable has yet to recover and learn from its momentarily stunned reaction to the Trump victory. The 4 years should, at least, be entertaining.
I wonder if CNN’s Jim Acosta will return to perform at the White House Press Briefings...?
Thanks for reading this far!

I watched one clip on the CEO killer and they all mangled his name. My first thought was, have none of you heard of Chuck?
Thanks for the info, but I really don't give a flying squirrel fart what happens in NYC or anywhere in New England anymore. I am still kinda interested in New Jersey news, as I lived there long ago. But the rest of the Northeast might as well be the moon, as far as I'm concerned.
I heard a little about Mangione (glutton in Italian) and the UHC exec. I was only interested a bit because my parents had, and Mom still has, United Health Care coverage. My parents hated that company. UHC is just another screwed-up medical insurance con artist.
