The Two Minute Hate

Or something else?

In George Orwell’s 1984, the Two Minute Hate is a mandatory ritual organized by the Government and observed daily wherever citizens are working. Everyone is expected to express their hatred for the Party’s enemy, Emmanuel Goldstein and his teachings, by shouting, cursing, and spitting at a two-minute video projected onto a large screen. Goldstein is the villain against whom the Party is fighting and the man who, Big Brother tells them, is out to destroy their way of life. People react immediately: “There were hisses here and there among the audience…In its second minute the Hate rose to a frenzy. People were leaping up and down in their places and shouting at the tops of their voices in an effort to drown the maddening bleating voice that came from the screen.”

This was just one of the ways that the Party controlled people’s emotions and where they’re directed. Instead of focusing on their own unhappiness and taking it out on the Party leaders, Oceanian citizens were trained to vent in these two minutes.

It’s not difficult to see how today’s demoralized Democrat Party has adopted Orwell’s dystopian vision. Partnering with their simpatico media amigos, the expectorating Democrats stridently take sides against Everything Trump – from the man to his administration to his policies; Trump is the Dem’s Emmanuel Goldstein.

Other than enjoying their tantalizing fantasies of overthrowing the Trump administration by any means necessary, what positive, pro-America, pro-Freedom, even fiscally responsible ideas have Democrats presented since Jan. 20^th?

Creative parlance generated “Trump Derangement Syndrome” (TDS) as shorthand for the ravings of both “elected leaders” and their hyperventilating myrmidons; the Orwellian parallels are startling. Around 2016, the Two Minute Hate morphed into the Legacy media’s “Evening News” where every miniscule Trumpian objection is writ large; some cable networks program their bile 24/7. Allegedly compensated by billionaire-backed NGO’s, otherwise normal appearing individuals publicly display at staged gatherings and demonstrations the same emotional “frenzy” Orwell describes, even in personal encounters in public places.

While sinking polling numbers continue to reflect the Party’s serious popularity problems (23%) among the electorate, Democrat Representatives and Senators consistently unite in their opposition to all proposed legislation born of Trump’s “America First” agenda. The Budget Resolution vote on Trump’s “big beautiful bill” that sets the framework for lawmakers to move forward on overwhelmingly popular issues like “No Tax on Tips, Overtime or Social Security”. While recently passed in the House, it had unanimous Democrat opposition.

Similar polls show 82% of citizens want violent illegal immigrants removed from American society. Ignoring the majority’s response, elected Democrats are busy making spectacles of themselves flying to El Salvador to lobby for the return of a deported illegal alien with serious criminal allegations of gang membership and domestic violence. Constituents note none of them or their Party made any similar efforts in response to the tragedies in W. North Carolina, Maui or E. Palestine despite the publicity of their plight and pleadings.

Politicians are notorious for being aggressively ignorant, tone deaf, delusional, vain, narcissistic and downright stupid. But for all those behavioral malignancies to fester throughout a particular group of people who pride themselves as “the Party of the Working Man”, is proof they also have a flaccid grasp on Reality.

Prolific commentator, El Gato Malo, notes that from Nov. 5^th through the writing of this post, Democrats have been fighting, shouting profanities, and throwing toddler temper fits because “violent illegal immigrants are being deported, billions in waste, fraud and abuse are being exposed, Govt workers have been ordered back to work at their assigned offices, grown men are prohibited from playing in girls sports, and Trump is trying to end the senseless war in Ukraine.” In addition, there just may be some free-floating sturm und drang the continuing DOGE investigations will reveal massive grifting and well-laundered kickbacks with certain outraged politician’s names attached. Yet, they still can’t noodle out why they’re approval ratings are approaching the Teens.

How much Hate must an “elected official” display to attract the average voter? How much Hate must an average voter have to feel in order to support such a candidate? Is it reasonable to conclude that voters with such feelings are growing in number so rapidly that the coming mid-term elections will win them the coveted prizes of House and Senate control? Are “Independent” American citizens susceptible to such obvious manipulation and ready to vote accordingly? Is the same ignorance, delusion and stupidity equally rampant across all geographical, race, age, and educational divisions?

Such cognitive contradictions yield a different conclusion: it isn’t Hate at all; it’s Insanity.

“The truth doesn’t seem to matter and hasn’t for a long time now. Hyperbole is all because they have nothing left to sell, no vision for America’s future. Who would they be if they weren’t the people hunting Donald Trump? They do not know. They’ve destroyed themselves trying to destroy him…

Because [Democrats] aren’t fighting for anything but are fighting to preserve the power they once had, they have no choice but to sell to the American people that they care more about illegal immigrants and biological men competing against women in sports…They have to sell us exactly what we do not want because they know no other way.

To undo the crazy, to find their way back to sanity, they would have to admit everything they thought was real wasn’t. They would have to recognize that they were caught up in a mass delusion.

But we know they won’t. Cory Booker had to amplify the crazy. AOC takes a bath in it. David Hogg shouts it from the rooftops. The crazy, like the cream, will rise to the top.”

Hate, Insanity, Frenzy, Crazy are all that’s left of the Democrats and their woebegone Party. Until their epiphany – should there ever be one – the new Two Minute Hate will metastasize like every other cancer until the host succumbs - or removes it.
