Two For The Road
What others are saying
Note: All the Big News doesn’t come from NYC-DC Axis of Evil. The Termites happily munching on the Constitution, Rule of Law, and other quaint foundational documents and principles are infested in government entities everywhere ‘across the fruited plain’. Everyone laboring (and underpaid) here in the cramped headquarters of BrianWilsonWrites Amalgamated Industries and Overhand Bowling League Inc. remains perpetually on high alert for unique expressions on matters of Freedom, our most precious, yet dwindling possession. Two such pieces were recently spotted, captured, and are posted below for your reading enjoyment and edification. BW, Mgr.
Everything the US government is good at is bad stuff.
Bombing innocent people, killing, stealing, both overtly in the form of taxes, and covertly in the form of inflation and civil asset forfeiture. It’s good at spying on foreign countries and us, US citizens that fund the entire criminal organization.
Everything the US government is bad at is the good stuff.
Teaching, infrastructure, protecting and securing liberty. Healthcare. Allowing us the freedom to work an honest day’s work for honest pay without a worry of a government regulator or extortion agent bothering you or your employer.
In spite of these truths, a large portion of the US can’t wait for the next election. And I get it, the current boob is insufferable. A totally despicable example of the human species, but is indeed a laid-bare example of those that rule and order us about.
We are not ever going to vote ourselves out of this debacle. It’s a virtue, for the ruling elite, not a bug.

Davy Crockett Didn’t Fight and Die For This
As financial, religious, and political refugees from California to Texas, we expected a conservative state. However, that has not been the case. Despite national media coverage to the contrary, our governor is very very average…and, I say that kindly. The Texas House is run by an alleged “Republican majority”—many of which are actually self-serving “representatives” that have Rs behind their names, but maintain power by ignoring the grassroots, while continuing a decades-long coalition with radical Democrats behind closed doors. The Dems vote for “our” speaker of the House, and in exchange they receive important, and powerful, vice chairmanships where they influence—if not write—public policy. The Senate is reasonably solid.
As for North Texas cities, candidates for office don’t have to declare a party affiliation. This is convenient since no political party holds them accountable. Of course, they run as being reasonable…then we get to hold our breath to see what they really are. Case in point, last night’s city council meeting in McKinney, a town of 237,000. On the agenda was whether to give final approval for a mosque, school, and additional building on 5.5 acres. The council had originally put this on a “consent agenda,” which simply means that it’s routine and without citizen input. They did relent, under pressure, and allowed two minutes for each citizen (assuming all were) to speak.
When we got there at 5:25 for a 6:00 meeting, the council chambers were already full. They opened a secondary location that was not large enough. They could have removed tables and put in a few hundred chairs, but they did not. It too was standing room only, and the fire marshal made anyone without a chair leave. We found ourselves standing with 100+ people in a corridor between the council and the overflow rooms. Few left. The meeting started late with Keith Self—part of the anti-Sharia caucus in D.C.—and State Rep. Keresa Richardson speaking against. Six hours later the final person spoke, each person being given 2 minutes. After that, the city council and mayor voted 7-0 for the mosque. About 15% of the speakers were either Muslim or Muslim-aligned liberals, imho. Crowd size was 500+.
Setting aside “why,” it’s very very clear that as long as we treat Islam as a religion, instead of a political powerhouse that has a way of organizing society radically different than our Constitution, we lose. They are not stupid. They are organized. They are funded. They are here. They are growing. Their leadership is using our Constitution against us in order to advance a system that will replace the Constitution itself. As a political entity, it should be viewed in the same vein as Mao’s China, or Stalin’s Russia, submitting plans to the City of McKinney for a 5.5-acre party headquarters. Yes, it might get approved…but at least you know what it actually is. What it isn’t is the equivalent of a church, synagogue, temple, or Grateful Dead concert. It’s political, with a religious accent.
On our way out, there was a group of hijab-wearing Muslim women that chanted, “shame on you, shame on you, shame on you.” I suggested that there were 56 wonderful Muslim countries they could move to—lots of options. My wife contributed with a polite non-verbal gesture. A man with them laughed and said, “This is America—you can’t do anything about it.” He could be right.

Watching Life and Leadership
Most of us spend our free time consumed with watching lives of others.
Movies, television, cell phones, computers, all these devices along with all forms of entertainment are designed to provide us with distractions.
The distractions are that while spending our time watching the lives of others we are spending little or no time watching our own lives.
Our leaders don’t want us to learn who we are and how we work because we will then discover that our leaders are not qualified to be our leaders.
Dear Brian
We are not ever going to vote ourselves out of this debacle.
Yes, we can, if we really want to.
Moral Party
The only thing that will change this horrendously awful situation we now face
is for us to understand that we must organize and unite together politically.
So, we’re now requesting our fellow Americans from both sides of the aisle
to stop the incessant fighting with one another and oust the tyrants together.
Or, you could be apathetic and let our future generations become enslaved.
