Great article. All governments are evil for they are built upon force and the authority of one man over another. Emma Goldman got it right.

It's a shame that Berkman failed to kill Henry Clay Frick. Frick was Andrew Carengie's thug at the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homestead_strike

Homestead Strike against Carnegie Steel Works in Pennsylvania. Carnegie fled to Scotland leaving Frick and the Pinkertons to do the dirty work to break the strike.

> It would be better to work on an alternative.

The best protest is to go about your life and livelihood, peaceably and nonviolently, as you see fit to do.

Underthrow the government.

DCS: But nowadays, it is almost impossible, I repeat, impossible to avoid government in our daily lives.

Hence the suggestion to underthrow it, rather than to naively think it can be totally avoided :-)

DSC: But the government is threatening people's lives and livelihood. People lost their jobs, businesses, and family in the last four years. How many times can Massa beat a slave before the slave revolts?

Government, by definition, is a violence-based institution. Such coercive civil authority always operates by inflicting harm or credibly threatening to inflict harm. If you only began noticing in the last four years that government is evil all the time, then welcome to the club-that-is-not-actually-a-club :-)

Are you saying it would NOT "be better to work on an alternative"?

DCS: I learned on August 21, 1971 when the government tried to draft lottery my ass to fight in Vietnam what a bunch of power mad evil bastards they are.

My generation tried to get out of the system and go underground. We had communes and small gardens and farms. A few of us succeeded, but most of us failed and went back into the system.

Maybe with the new technologies today it is easier to go off grid and leave the system. Live like the Amish. The government is attacking the Amish for this reason.

I don't think there is anywhere to hide anymore. The state will have to be taken down for there to be liberty. And the state can't be rebuilt with some new "Constitution." The state has to stay dead.

That's why I advocate for alternatives to the government, not for the kind of revolt that would simply put a new boss in charge.

Underthrow the government; that's the only way it gets "taken down" without a new one immediately supplanting it.
