On November 22, 2022 (JFK assassination day), I fell at the local grocery store parking lot and broke my right hip into a dozen pieces or more. I don't know for sure. The X-Ray results were never shared with me.

The local ER was cold. Not enough IV Fentanyl was given to me for the pain. The X-Ray room was worse than any torture chamber.

Fortunately, I had surgery the next day (#5 and last on that day before Thanksgiving). I was under the gas in the OR for 2.5 hours.

My surgeon spent a total of 90 seconds with me when I was conscious. A turkey at home awaited him,

I was pleasant with the staff. My mistake was, while under the influence of pain killers, telling the doctor that I drank 12 Amstel Lights a day. I was declared an alcoholic and given some drugs (I think). My broken hip would heal as it would in their opinion. My alcoholism must be cured,

On the third day I told them to take their medicine and shove it along with the blood draws and blood pressure checks. I was leaving the hospital.

And I did.

Good thing you didn't fall for Obama's Portable Red Line - Middle East model.

Brian: LOL! How is Barry Soetoro doing? Good ol' Barry seems to be supporting Senile Joe. I wonder where Barry gets his pot. Has anyone answered Barry's ad for a house chef?

Death's OK - I just don't want to be there when it happens.

Many thanks. The Wilson clan's Spartan lineage eschews posting personal issues as well as pictures of recent meals! OTOH, our collective medical history is a non-stop series of appalling events which could easily qualify as Group Warning! That you and others have similar tales proves the sad-but-true point. Here's hoping the Medical Hobgoblins lose your address!

I still have my hair and sense of humor. I never used Netflix. Couldn't figure it out.

Death is welcome anytime but I'd like to have the trees trimmed first.

OK...Don't scare us like that. I was worried you were in the hospital and something bad had happened! BUT...you are sooo correct in your dissertation on the health care system in the United States. Well done! I had to learn the hard way when my mom (87 at the time) fell and had to be hospitalized and then sent to rehab for a bit. Yes, you could put together an entire series every bit as good as Yellowstone on just the stories from all of us. ONE of the main issues I encountered was all available staff was on their cell phones tiktoking away. You also made a very important point about being your own advocate. If not you're screwed. Patient Relations? LMAO Stay well Brian. We need you!
