Building on the chat we just had, guest columnist Brad Smith takes a closer look at Ukraine's situation and what lies (no pun intended) ahead.

One of the reasons why the blue and yellow flags bothered me as much as they did, was that I knew most people flying them meant well, but that their good will would be used to help sell a war that shouldn't have continued.
Where are those Blue and Yellow flags now? I haven't seen a Ukrainian flag in a while, have you?
Come to think of it, the last time I saw one it was draped around the guy who tried to ambush Trump, that nut meant well too, I'm sure, but then again, he's a nut.
What's everyone else's excuse? The media Lied Again? How many times can you blame the media? Why haven't people figured out that they lie for a living? It's what they do, they lie for money. Are all of them that way? No, some are also True Believers, they just don't bother finding out the truth if they don't have to, even though technically it's kind of their job.
I think most of the American people have largely realized that they got tricked into supporting another war and that we have not helped the people of Ukraine one bit. The people of Ukraine would have been better served if they had not broken the two different peace deals with the rebels and barring that, they should have accepted the deal that was made in Turkey, at the very start of the war.
The US should not have overthrown, not one, but two, Ukrainian governments. We should not have flooded weapons into Ukraine, so that racist militia members could go hunting for Russian speakers in the Donbass. We also found out that the CIA was knee deep in everything, stoking the flames, that was another big mistake.
Biden should not have continued to insist that Ukraine had a path to joining NATO, including putting it in writing in response to Putin's war Ultimatum, the US had been told in no uncertain terms that it was a red line and Biden told Putin to pound sand.
I could list another fifty mistakes our Dear Leaders made, it's been a reckless mess and a complete disaster, for everyone but the Merchants of Death.
So Who's winning Operation Pyrrhic Victory? Nobody, everyone always loses when we got to war, at least when it comes to the every day people.
The biggest losers are the Ukrainian people, followed by the Russian people. People in America and Europe have also been losers and are paying the price economically.
As for the Geopolitical war? It's hard to deny that if Russia is allowed to keep Crimea and the areas that voted to become part of Russia, that Russia will have come out of the war just fine. If new security agreements are made, and China's "Multipolar" world comes into effect, their economy could rapidly outpace much of Europe, especially if sanctions are lifted and they get their frozen assets back.
What's my prediction for the war? I predict that it will take Trump around Eight Months maximum to get a deal signed, he might get some small ceasefires and prisoner exchanges done before that, grain sales might be allowed, maybe they will both agree to not hit energy facilities, first.
I'm 75% sure it will be completely over in under a year from today and I'd give about 50% odds that the major fighting is over in six months or less. They will fight hard right up until the negotiations are complete, jockying for territory.
I'd bump the odds up to 95%, if I was simply predicting the chance that Trump will try to put an end to it quickly, but you have to consider Putin as well and I'm less sure about him. He might want to fight for a while longer, to have an even stronger bargaining position or he might drag it out for other reasons unknown.
Zelensky will most likely jump at the chance to make peace, as long as we provide him with maximum protection against the militia members, who will try to take him out. He's been supplied with enough weapons to hold out for a while longer and Biden just forgave half the "loans", the other half will be forgiven at a later date.

Hahaha! Yeah, blue and yellow flags. The City Council had our restored antique 1921 truss bridge over the Russian River lit up with blue and yellow lights. It was pathetic. Then came Oct. 7th and the local rich Jews wanted the City Council to light up the bridge in blue and white for Israel.
The City Council and Healdsburg citizens said, "NO!"
Ms. Sehr, the daughter of the bastard who built the Hotel Healdsburg and ruined our town with tourists, had a rally on the Plaza in support of Israel. A few people showed up. Haven't heard a word from the rich bitch since.
Trump could end all the wars, as the commander in chief, by defunding them and bringing our troops home from the 800 foreign bases they are on, in 80 foreign countries, and putting them on the border with Mexico until it becomes lawful again.
