Think of someone you hate.
I hate no one! Hate is too strong a word!
OK – think of someone you dislike intensely. Not because he’s ugly*or smells bad. It’s just an undefinable something that immediately and irrevocably turns you off. Hold that thought.
Now, think of someone you like. Not physically or anything similar. He has a pleasant personality, maybe a couple quirks, but an OK guy you could have beer with.
Here’s the wrinkle.
The guy you hate could be in a position to do some things that would be of great benefit to you and many of the people you love. He’s got the juice. All he has to do is “get there” to make it happen. But he needs your help to make the trip and you hate…intensely dislike the guy; he can go pound sand. You’d like the bennies – but you ha…intensely dislike the guy that much, you’ll pass.
The other guy wants the same gig and needs your help, too. If he makes it, though, things aren’t likely to improve for you and your loved. In fact, lots of smart folks have charted the facts that “things get worse” would be the probable scenario - if he makes it in.
You get the poorly constructed analogy. The first dude is Trump; the second, Harris.
I’m putting this in admittedly simplistic terms to pose a simple but unasked question. Unfortunately, you aren’t likely to be the one asked. Maybe you can ask a friend, relative or acquaintance with an opposing political opinion.
So you don’t like Trump for whatever reasons - but which of those ‘reasons’ are because of his Policies?
You don’t really want your taxes raised, do you? Harris has promised to raise them, one way or another as well as continue Biden’s profligate Federal spending to exacerbate already unsustainable inflation. You’re OK with that?
Don’t you support Trump’s promise to not tax tips? Overtime? Social Security? Or do you get off on seeing people struggle even more under Harris’ heavy hand of the omnipotent IRS?
How about your tax dollars paying for Harris’ commitment to “support Ukraine” over Trump’s promise to end that stupid, bloody and obscenely expensive “war”? Have you seen the devastation your money is buying? You wouldn’t prefer to see your billions of dollars go to care for homeless Vets? Devastated Appalachia? North Carolina? Or is Government flim-flam of citizens acceptable to you?
Aren’t you in favor of a closed border? Legal immigration? An end to women, children and sex trafficking? Drug running? The gang and terrorist invasion of towns all across the country? You’re really comfortable paying for their health care, cell phones, meals, housing, even legal representation? By her own words and inaction, Harris is.
What about the crime that comes with the invasion? Seen any around your neighborhood? Yet?
How about inflation? Trump has laid out specific plans to bring it down via energy expansion, deregulation, lower taxes and tariff’s that would benefit American industry. Harris has promised to “fight price gauging” despite a lack of evidence it even occurs and economic facts to the contrary. What’s your preference?
Ah! But you hate the guy, right? “Orange Man Bad!” It’s not his policies, it’s his…his…??? Something else?
Is it Character or Competence? “Trump lies!” Probably. Can you have a few examples not provided by CNN or MSNBC? What about Harris? Recent news reports she’s guilty of massive plagiarism, just like her boss in1987. At least he had the honor to drop out of the race. Do you think Harris has that integrity?
Trump has recently been vilified for his choice of words and “locker room talk” about golf superstar, Arnold Palmer’s “package”. Fair enough. The MSM critics’ hair is on fire! CNN’s Jim Acosta asked Rep. Byron Donalds if this is a ‘good role model for kids’? That might be a fair question if CNN could produce ratings showing how many 12-18 year olds are watching their “news” and devastated by Trump’s comments.
OTOH, McDonald’s Corporation has proven Harris lied about her part-time employment while attending college. Given a choice – which you are – would you vote for the candidate with a tendency to employ profanity or the candidate who lies repeatedly about something as insignificant as “part-time teenage employment”, factually proven untrue and then goes onto plagiarize other people’s work and call it her own?
Maybe it would just be best to avoid selecting Politicians for role models. Our 16th President had a problem obeying the Constitution. Our 18th President had a drinking problem. Numbers 28 and 32 did more damage to America than all those who held the office before them. Truman dropped Fat Man and Little Boy, killing over 400,000 Japanese to “make a statement”. Kennedy liked pretty women. LBJ had a hand in his assassination. Right up to this election, there are no saints among US Presidents.
But we’re not voting for a Saint.
Since we all have ‘em, let’s set character flaws aside and focus on voting Facts vs Feelings.
People used to change their opinion based on information
Now people change the information based on opinion.
As of this writing, Harris leads Trump within the ‘margin of error’. There’s no point in commenting on the veracity of polls and polling again. The BWW Archives has several pieces discussing those muck machines and the fraud that follows them.
But assuming the polls are reasonably accurate, voter turnout is a serious matter. The question is: if you are among the “Undecideds” or alleged Harris supporters, based on the facts and questions above, how do you justify voting your “Feelings” when, if she wins, the repercussions will be so provably detrimental to every aspect of life in America?
Because you hate – intensely dislike the guy? Is that the best you’ve got?
E-Day is two weeks off. Failure to critically analyze the short, intermediate and long term results for you, your loved ones and the rest of America will be enormous depending on the winner.
Personally, I’m fascinated by people who vote their “feelings” over facts, holding the future in their finger, not their brains.
BWW reader Timmy Taes writes: “The election doesn't matter. I know that if Trump or Harris wins, I still lose. Nothing important in my life…is going to change for the better.”
“He may be right. He may be crazy. But it just may be a lunatic you’re looking for!” (Billy Joel)
We’ll find out in two weeks; actually, at tad longer. Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Arizona have already announced they won’t be prepared to declare a winner on Nov. 5th; others are likely to join in the game. Do you get the feeling we’ve seen this movie a few years ago?
And then comes the Afterglow…
Thanks for reading this far.

Reminder: Don “Letter to the Editor” Williams will be my guest ‘in the Barn’ this Friday.
I received an email this morning from Trending Politics News. Not saying I agree, but interesting thought. People come up with all kinds of scenarios.
Fellow Patriot,
I come to you today with good news and bad news.
The good news is that I believe President Trump will win the 2024 election.
The bad news? I believe the Democrats will refuse to give him power and certify his victory.
As Vice President, Kamala Harris has the 'final say' when certifying election results on January 6, 2025. I predict she is going to refuse to certify his victory and become installed as the 47th President. And how do I know this? Because the writing is on the wall...
In the past week, Democrats have begun calling Trump a "Fascist".
But why? Are they trying to scare voters into choosing her? Yes, but the REAL reason is even more sinister.... If they paint Trump as "H*tler", they will be fully justified to refuse him power. I mean, what could be more "patriotic" than denying a "fascist" power?
This is what they are going to do, and I fear for what will happen to our country if this happens. In short, ALL HELL would break loose.
I think Trump learned quite a lot from his previous term and listened to many people he should not have. I don't believe you are going to see that again this time. He has his X-Men team lined up (per Dr. Jordan Peterson). Elon Musk, Robert Kennedy, Vivek Ramaswamy, Tulsi Gabbard and JD Vance. I believe if he wins, we will see that team be in on a number of decisions. I believe he can trust these people unlike many he enlisted the first time. He listened to many people he should not have. I don't believe he realized how deep the deep state really was.
