Pull quote: "Many innovations come from recombining existing ideas in novel ways..." True. An axiom of development is the inventor gets the prize, but the improver gets the money. Regarding power types unwillingness to lose control: Their understanding is often behind the curve, so I expect restrictive measures to retard or undermine AI growth if the powerful are truly concerned.

Charlie, The powerful want the status quo. They don't want change.

Ai recently pull a Kobyashi Maru type maneuver where it went into the code of the opponent computer it was playing chess against and changed a couple of lines of code in the opponent so the Ai could win. It did it without the instruction of its programmers. It cheated, which is lying by another name…

Yesterday a bunch of anti-war Socialists were equating DOGE to a take over by the oligarchs and stated that libertarians and right wingers were Elon's dupes. Apparently it's Elon's plan to enslave us all with AI after stealing our data.

I pointed out that technology generally speaking does solve problems, like famine being "practically a thing of the past" and that since AI is coming whether we like it or not, we might as well get some good use out of it too, like cutting back on waste, fraud and abuse, otherwise known as government.

I then got a lecture on how famines were just as prevalent as ever due to evil Capitalists, who were somehow stopping commies from feeding everyone. (Yes they are that dumb when it comes to their own history.)

After that I used google AI to ask if Famine was "practically a thing of the past", and posted the answer, where the AI agreed with me, that thanks to modern farming and technology, that we are indeed feeding the world.

When I posted the AI reply, this was the socialist's response.

"You have no brain of your own, did not bother to study history in school and cannot think critically and cannot remember or understand anything well enough to formulate cogent opinions of your own.

Therefore you must ask a poorly informed incomplete database machine guided by your ridiculous question to give you facile answers.

In your naivete you hand over your faith to mechanical programming of your brain.

Pathetic."

I thanked her for the great comment and let her know I'd be sharing it with friends and left it at that.

I'm guessing you will probably not have anyone reply to you with anything similar, but trust me it was funny and elightening. Currently I'm considering generating an AI response to all left wing comments. It worked so well the first time, why not?

I have a similar analysis to your point in the article about the types of tasks that AI automation will do vs. what previous robotic automation did/does.

The exchange you had that you've illustrated in your comment, happens too often. Maybe outsourcing the task of "arguing with left wing comments" will save you time without sacrificing your enjoyment of the process? 😅

Brad, You talk to socialists? Tsk, tsk.

I want an "Elon's Dupe" T-shirt and cap. Maybe even a set of pajamas.

I still have a couple old school Socialists friends who are dedicated antiwar types, they aren't half bad, their fans though, holy Moses they make it hard to try to keep communication open. I'll be having a perfectly good conversation and in will pop their fan boys to act like total dicks every time.

You can't just be allies against the wars with that bunch, you have to be "allies" with them on 100% of everything, or else. And honestly, the newer generation are complete lightweights compared with the old school ones.

The old school ones tended towards being anarchist of the Proudhon type and they could argue for hours, never lose their cool, always stick up for labor and still not sound like retards, this new bunch is like night and day. They don't know history or philosophy all you get is hair on fire, hyperbolic weirdness. Quick to take offensive, impossible to get them to Understand your argument when they don't feel like it, etc.

I ask myself all the time what happened to them, they used to at least be somewhat intellectual and even willing to admit the failure of communism, now they are just "right" and this time it's going to work because the old school ones never really tried it right.

I think this ignorance has shown up, not only because we dumbed down education, but we also encouraged emotional antics, which the female persuasion excel at. This was due largely to opening up university to a horde of idealistic girls and less than bright boys, who will say anything to get in their britches.

Segregating the sexes for the entirety of their education would be great for America.

Brian should set up a Merch store and sell the Elon stuff, he might clean up.

How would AI improve my life?

I am using Grammarcy in my writing. It corrects spelling and grammar mistakes. I don't always take its advice, but it helps.

Will AI make the DMV go away?

Will AI make tax forms and tax preparers go away?

Will AI make dealing with Social Security morons easier, or better yet, not at all?

Will AI make dealing with the estate of a deceased loved one easier?

Will AI make divorce easier?

In summation, will AI make my life easier when I have to deal with the fucking government?
