Here we go again!
Today, none other than Dr Vivek Murthy, Surgeon General of the USA, “has declared gun violence a public health issue.” Along with his Declaration, he provides a whopping 40 pages (40!), which “outlines the scope of firearm violence, its impact on victims and communities and a slew of policy suggestions for lawmakers, community leaders, and health systems.”
Only 40 pages? Even with a 9-point font, that's pretty slim pickings considering the ginormous amount of scuttlebutt that has spread like so much manure over the years.
Dr. Murthy includes all the SOP recommendations and tired clichés of the gun control mantra. Zero original thought here: “increasing federal funding for gun violence prevention research, more community investment in educational programs and mental health resources, and nationwide policy changes like an assault weapons ban and universal background checks.”
How so not novel.
But for the sake of those who’ve been focused on Pat Sajak’s last “Wheel” and other compelling distractions, let’s take a useful moment to review:
“Gun violence” is just another slice of empty liberal rhetoric. Guns are not violent and do not operate independently. That’s always put down as ‘simplistic’ by the anti-gun squad simply because the simplicity is undeniable – which sets their hair on fire, making them even more frustrated, still without logic or reason. Prior to guns, arrows, swords and spears killed people. Prior to spears, rocks; prior to rocks, hands. People have come up with novel ways of killing other people long before the firearm. But they’ve always required a human element of activation.
Why isn’t it obvious to the Surgeon General that it’s the person operating the firearm initiating violence? Why blame an inanimate object? He’s a doctor! Shouldn’t he be able to grasp this notion? Or has he caught Politicitis, the mental disease common in the Logic Free Zone?
Is it ‘Car Violence’ in accidents and vehicular homicides? Does the car, dealer, or manufacturer get the blame? Or the driver? (Note: This will be on your Final)
How about ‘Liquor Violence’? Liquor, bottles, glasses and refineries aren’t blamed for a DUI or worse and shouldn’t be; the drunk is and should be. Sadly, there are still states with Dram Shop laws that can bite a bartender in a painful spot.
What about “Drug Violence”? Is it the weed, pill, powder or needle that’s to blame? Or the ninnyhammer who chooses to take them? (Don’t say “the pusher”! They are just an individual engaged in unsavory activities…like IRS Agents and MSNBC hosts).
The violence being imported through illegal immigration is tragically becoming a new ugly statistic. Will we hear of “Illegal Immigration Violence” or blame it on “Societal Adjustment Issues”?
Most people favoring gun control resent facing the personal responsibility of the shooter. It’s easier to blame a scary-looking gun most people know little about. We know what a great motivator Fear is when used to manipulate the uninformed for a political agenda. “Gun violence” is a transparent ad hominem, not a solution.
John Lott has repeatedly proven an armed presence reduces the chances – and opportunities – for deadly gunfire. Why do banks, stores, soldiers, celebrities, and the very same politicians who would disarm you are all surrounded by men with guns for their protection? 32 states still require you to have a permission slip. School children must settle for Gun Free School Zone signs because the teachers union, school officials and, sadly, too many parents don’t like ‘the look’ of armed security in their schools; it’s a sign of their failure to protect students. Do they prefer the dead bodies of children and teachers instead? Off-duty policemen are more readily available than waiting on unconstitutional legislative efforts to deny – or now ‘postpone’ - individuals from having the natural right of self-defense enshrined in the 2nd Amendment. History and statistics expose failure and tragedy wherever those efforts have been successful.
Imperfect men enacting imperfect laws over imperfect society will consistently yield imperfect results. Excrement occurs and always will. Time and circumstance guarantee it.
Declaring “gun violence” as a ‘public health issue’ is misleading and insulting. Legislation that “will keep our children safe” is a warning to parents, educators, and everyone else. Since politicians’ anti-gun proposals have proven tragically ineffective in having any positive effect on reducing crime, what is their real agenda?

Thanks again for reading this far. ICYMI, check out my previous “We Won’t Get Fooled Again” and see how this latest stunt from the Biden anti-gun administration seems perfectly chorographed and likely part of a greated erosion of our Freedom, Liberty and Natural Rights.
And don’t forget….
"Gun Violence" is a ridiculous term, but that is what the "1984" Double-Speak folks specialize in. "Date Rape" is another one. Who rapes a date? Are they talking about calendar dates? The fruit?
Why can we say "A person of color" but saying "colored person" is forbidden?
Why can we say "N-Word" but not "nigger"?
What the hell does "Climate Change" mean? What's the time frame? Are we talking about an HVAC system here changing the climate in our homes and buildings?
And "Green Energy". What does that mean? The electrons are green?
My favorite is "Sustainable". What the hell on this planet is sustainable? I'm not sustainable. The planet isn't sustainable. The Solar System isn't sustainable. I sure as hell know that time isn't sustainable. It just keeps on going by.
"Gun Violence" is just another idiotic term from our masters to confuse us and get us bickering with each other.
Let's not forget that when certain groups commit crimes, that it's clearly never their own fault, society is to blame and that apparently included blaming our gun laws (even laws dems passed), which somehow allowed otherwise peaceful citizens to engage in violence. This is part and parcel of the whole "You can't blame the perpetrators" line of thinking. If it CAN'T be the fault of the individual, then it must be the guns fault or our fault for not limiting guns.
From this perspective "WE" are creating more victims by not keeping the innocent, totally blameless perps from ending up in jail. Clearly the prisons would not be packed full of innocent POC if not for the evil guns that made them commit crimes. It's practically entrapment!! We give them the means, the opportunity and the motive, so of course we are to blame, not the perps.
Obviously violence will continue, even if you magically took all the guns out of the hands of criminals, which is as likely as me becoming an NBA star, but that's beside the point. The point is they have found a scapegoat, blaming guns is an easy out. However, if they weren't blaming guns they would still not put the blame where it belongs, on individuals. They can't, their entire ideology is set up to support the narrative of the victim class NEVER being perpetrators of anything.
Furthermore, guns in our hands, limit their power and obviously anything that limits their power must go, making the push for more gun laws a two-for-one proposition.
They want you dependent on them for protection, that's the goal, not keeping you safe. Furthermore, they want to keep alive their race hustle, which has kept so many of them in power.
So tell me it's not all about who controls the levers of power.
Ps. Notice that they don't blame immigration laws or illegals, why? Because illegal immigration is poised to be turned into amnesty, which they believe would keep them all in power for another generation. They play lip service to fixing this issue, but we all know that it's for the cameras and that behind the scenes they are in favor of getting more democrat voters regardless of how they do it.
