The solution to the contradiction between Jefferson and Madison’s statements may be in a non-violent method.
The people could begin by boycotting elections and picketing the polls. Non participation by the governed, in every possible way, is an insurrection that Madison did not anticipate.
I’m only one citizen, but I stopped voting 25 years ago. When everyone stops the game is over. Who needs Biden or Trump anyway.
Agreed - in principle. Then there's that Time thingy. I'd like results prior to my funeral services. Educating and motivating 300+ million voters might be a bit daunting. Not voting must, no doubt, be personally satisfying; for me, still subject to the tyranny of the majority does meet the Freedom test. Without proof, I suspect Madison may have been up on 'non participation' idea since only a third (maybe) supported the Revolution!
As Lysander Spooner said long ago, "Why do we have to follow a document written and ratified by the dead? We weren't alive when this Constitution was written. Why do we have to tug our forelocks and do what it says?" (I'm paraphrasing).
I'd take it a step further. I don't remember signing a contract with God to be born. Libertarians believe in voluntary contracts. Birth, death, and taxes are not voluntary contracts.
"The world is full of ideas. Even better, we’re free to pick and choose from them, within them, any part of them. Who knows what might work? More importantly, there's no rule requiring that you have to like the person who happens to come up with that ‘something’ with which you agree. And there's no rule whoever it is must be infallible. There's not even a rule that says s/he has to be ‘good people’."
Right on! Ad Hominem and Appeal to Authority are each logical fallacies. Evaluate the information; save the personal adulations or eviscerations for some other time (maybe never).
BW: An obscure joke about his billionaire Heinz heiress wife. I wonder if Kerry even eats Catsup or is it "Ketchup". The Guinness family never drank Guinness. Ashford Castle in Cong, Galway was built by the Guinness family. I've been there a few times. The grounds were used in the movie "The Quiet Man." Nice place.
BW: Good article. I read the Irish Times. The Irish Times had an article a week or so ago showing how Guinness is now the #1 beer in the UK. I don't think Americans will ever go for Guinness in large numbers. It's a beer made for cold wet climates.

I am counting on a funeral. It's my ticket off the planet.
The only other reasonable option is for you to become the king.
Wait! I'm NOT the king???!! You were supposed to take care of that after you assumed presidency of the B&B Empire!

What am I doing here?
<<What am I doing here?>> Critical thinking would be my guess...
BW: That's why I read your substack. But as to why I'm on Earth, no one knows and many, well some, wish I wasn't.
So?
BW: So I stay alive to piss them off.
Whatever works.
Wait just a cotton picking’ moment!
I identify as a dork!…😇
Wait! What? I thought that was MR. Dork??!!
Pls advise ASAP. Changes will be made!

I thought John Kerry was too old to be playing with the ketchup.
You may be confusing that with the catchup...

Zero Hedge story - Guinness "well known but not doing so well."
