For a very little while, I endured a network talk show host today. Like most other similarly aligned hosts, he beats the Conservative drum 3 hours/5 days per. Redundancy is a big part of these shows today. But then, even the “late, great” Rush Limbaugh (RIP) had long stretches of the Same Old Same Old.
Today, our star had a revealing gambit. He promised to set aside two minutes to listen to any declared Democrat call and state the reasons s/he was voting “Kamala Harris for President.” The only stipulation was the Caller could not use Race, Sex, Gender, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, or Trump anywhere in the explanation.
For Red Meat Conservatives, this was a swell way to flush out TDS and the Progressive, Liberal bases from which all the heavy breathing for the “first African-American Female President” was coming during these Media Coronation Weeks.
Would you be amazed no one took the bait? Most would say “No because any chucklehead could deduce the Host would make mincemeat out of the caller. If s/he stuck to the restrictions, listeners would be treated to the Fantastic Record of Invisible Accomplishments, Free Everything, and ‘Danger to Our Democracy!’ currently being flogged by the MSM and every Democrat foghorn with a microphone or camera. Then, the mincing of meat would begin.”
This is true. The polarizing effect of Talk Radio (and TV) has enabled liberals and Conservatives to use a toxic combination of glittering political generalities (disinformation), consummate ignorance of the general public, and the Cuisinart of the 24-hour news cycle to send listeners off into the rubber room of Distortion As Truth.
This is the infamous Inflection Point where the Host either seizes a constructive opportunity or reveals his junior varsity understanding of compelling show programming.
Removing his stated restrictions would have caused a tsunami of progressive, liberal callers stating, ‘This is exactly what we want!’ They have no knowledge or interest in the reality that governs governance. Or used to. The emotional, irrational, destructive bull fluff passed like gas from the MSM “news” outlets to vacuous Man-on-the-Street quotes from actual voters incapable of making cogent comments based on pragmatic programs, respectful of Constitutional limitations (e.g., Biden’s current SCOTUS packing scheme) to the Progressive’s Wonderland of Free, lacking any conception of who will pay the bills.
Progressive, Liberal Democrats, and their New Harris House Plant are firmly entrenched as the Party of Gimme! They’ve taken “Land of the Free” and made it literal inside their liberal bubble.
The Host’s opportunity (or challenge considering his TQ (Talent Quotient) was a perfect teaching moment to take on the liberal babble and explain in words of one syllable or less the untenable basis for their bizarre demands; that the laws of economics, reason, logic still apply, whether enforced by government “authority” or not; like gravity, there is no ON/Off switch. Or, quoting Ayn Rand, “You can ignore reality, but you can't ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.”
Granted, those of the Extreme Left are thoroughly unable to comprehend the essentials of logic and reason. Public education and what passes for media at all levels and forms have successfully—and tragically—lobotomized several generations that, more than just vote, run for office. When elected, they drag their Fantasy Land views and ideas with them to be hitched to the irresistible force of the Government machine.
This is the setting and potentially positive moment the Host missed, preferring the stereotypical Bob Grant, Michael Savage, Mark Levine style of Insult, Hang-Up and Ravage! Internally satisfying, I employed a few of these tactics myself over the years whenever caller-appropriate and reasonable persuasion had run out along with my perfected Self-Control (insert ‘Laugh Track’ sfx here). Sadly, these constructive opportunities are as rare as morals in Washington. Too bad this one was squandered.
If permitted by the coming election, “The End Is Near!” will be replaced with “The End Is Here!”

Thanks for reading this far!
Something akin to a “Part Two” will be along shortly.
Meanwhile….
This is exactly why there are so few people I can actually watch or listen to on a regular basis, one show in and I know everything they will say on every topic. It's rare that I'm caught off guard and left with something to actually ponder.
That's probably why I cut my cable before it was called cutting your cable, it just didn't appeal to me to listen to fifty talking heads all saying the exact same things. I think in my whole life I've only had cable for maybe five years, they didn't have it around here unless you lived in town and I didn't and for a long time we just didn't bother to get it, being used to living without it. Then they had the dish stuff and we tried that for a couple years and just didn't watch it enough to bother paying for it.
24 hour news cycle and you can watch all day and never stop to think about anything, maybe that's the whole point of propaganda, but it shouldn't be something the guys not involved in the state pimping do too.
Just give me at least one thing to think about once in a while, is that too much to ask of them?
I've never understood talk radio and never listen to it. I don't watch the ranters on the Internet either. Their voices are disturbing to my psyche. I prefer to read articles and listen to "The Two and Only", of course.
Are there odds in Las Vegas of Trump getting shot again?
