This is exactly why there are so few people I can actually watch or listen to on a regular basis, one show in and I know everything they will say on every topic. It's rare that I'm caught off guard and left with something to actually ponder.
That's probably why I cut my cable before it was called cutting your cable, it just didn't appeal to me to listen to fifty talking heads all saying the exact same things. I think in my whole life I've only had cable for maybe five years, they didn't have it around here unless you lived in town and I didn't and for a long time we just didn't bother to get it, being used to living without it. Then they had the dish stuff and we tried that for a couple years and just didn't watch it enough to bother paying for it.
24 hour news cycle and you can watch all day and never stop to think about anything, maybe that's the whole point of propaganda, but it shouldn't be something the guys not involved in the state pimping do too.
Just give me at least one thing to think about once in a while, is that too much to ask of them?
<one show in and I know everything they will say on every topic>
The curse of 'talk tv', cable, the '24-hr news cycle'. There isn't enough to feed the beast so everything gets recycled. It's as if old Top 40 radio PDs went to cable wit the same ideas. At least Talk radio allowed - required - the Next Guy do something different. I miss doing the show - but Corp Ownership would yank me before the first break! The 'National PD ' was on my ass daily back in 2010. There was no point in sticking around.
I've never understood talk radio and never listen to it. I don't watch the ranters on the Internet either. Their voices are disturbing to my psyche. I prefer to read articles and listen to "The Two and Only", of course.
Are there odds in Las Vegas of Trump getting shot again?
Brian, I wonder if there was a Dead Pool bet on each of the Presidential candidates. Does the Dead Pool pay for an attempted killing? What if more than one is killed?
I think Dick Cheney was behind the shootings in Butler, PA. Both political parties are cleaning house.
Brian, Good point. However, what if you can "bet the field" in the Dead Pool. If a citizen not on the Dead Pool list is killed in an attempted killing of a Dead Pool participant, a civilian like Corey Comperatore, betting the field would win.
Brian, I'm the same way. I just watched an episode of "Murdoch Mysteries" the other day about a Dead Pool gambling circle. The participants all tried to kill each other along with some civilians. Last one standing won the money.

No doubt -- altho I would be reluctant to inquire. Not enough time for 'company'...

I checked with the DP Overseer. They have a different name for "attempted killing". It's "Failure." You can imagine the compensation...

Personally, it's difficult to even rhetorically imagine human life on a Totalizator Board a la John Wick...

Reminds me of zero sum politics.
