Thanks, Brian, for an entertaining 2024 of your articles, podcasts, and videos. My Dad had viral pneumonia; it was the first blow of many to put him on the road to the hospice. Hips take a long time to heal. Mine was smashed in a fall, and it's been 26 months since. I still am not walking right. I don't have my mind right, captain, either.

A beloved pet dying is a broken heart that never mends.

"Like the sand through the hourglass, so go the Days of our Lives." Many years ago, I made videos all the time. One skit/video was about Days of Our Lives. I downloaded the beginning video clip of the soap opera and had some fun with it. Seems like a million years ago. My wife likes soap operas. So did Murray Rothbard. Rothbard said soap operas show life and human nature like it is.

You are lucky to have a wife who is smart, tough, and fights for you. And she cooks!

This holiday season seemed different than those in the past. The mail was ridiculously inefficient. It takes three weeks for a card to go from CA to Maine. Santa didn't arrive. Probably shot down by a drone/UFO.

Ahh, the New Year. Tax Time. Ugh! The State reminds us right away who is the boss.

Thanks again for an informative and entertaining year on your substack.

Thanks for being among the first to jump on board. Maybe you should post one of your DooL vids!

Here’s to 2025 and maintaining the Cool Hand Mindset…

What a year we’ve had…I lost a dear friend from grade school days to turbo cancer after 2 Moderna shots. In 2023 we lost our 14 year old rat terrorist Lucy so I can relate very well to your loss. We now have Lyle and Bella to fill our empty hearts. Your writing as well as encouragement for my own substack, plus a new online friendship with Timmy Taes thanks to your recommendation has made the year extra rich. Best wishes to you and Missus Wilson in 2025.

Anyone who likes Dogs is good with me. I know very well the pain of losing Nellie t'Bell and the joy and eventual knowledge of sadness with Princess Gracie Belle. GR's are great, I've never had the privilege of having one but I've known a couple. And your comment on the zoomies and the rest made me laugh.

Thanks - Mission Accomplished!

Here's what I've sent to friends and people who have had the Nellie experience...

There is a cycle of love and death that shapes the lives of those who choose to travel in the company of animals. It is a cycle unlike any other. To those who have never lived through its turnings and walked its rocky path, our willingness to give our hearts with full knowledge they will be broken seems incomprehensible. Only we know how small a price we pay for what we receive; our grief, no matter how powerful it may be, is an insufficient measure of the joy we have been given.

I more than like what you have written. Still hard though and is so very unfair. I have received far more from my Dog friends than I deserve.

DCS, Governor Newsom outlawed electric accordions in a bid to save the state's electrical grid and keep Californians sedated.

Newsom prefers the gas-powered accordions? 🤣

DCS, Newsom likes gas-powered accordions if the gas used comes from cow farts. Some accordions leak this gas. Several Italian barbers have been gassed by their leaking accordions. California is suffering from a barber shortage. Long-haired old hippies like me are becoming more and more common in the Golden State.
