When A Democracy Isn't A Democracy

I recently read an article that sums up the thinking of the Democrats fairly well. Their new attack against Trump is that he is Destroying Democracy. Forget about the fact that people voted for this change, this change is threatening our "System of Democracy". It's no longer about the voters per se, they voted wrong, so fuck them, now it's about "THE SYSTEM". Except the system is not the people and democracy is literally rule by the people. So how's that work?

And yes I know people will argue that we are not a Democracy!! This is true and not true as I've said in the past. We are a Republic which includes within it the rule of the people via representatives, who are restrained by our constitution. (think of it as democracy with extra protections built in so that the people can't be total dicks via dickhead representatives.)

However, in a real sense the Government does rule via the Consent of the People. No we do not have a "Direct Democracy", we instead have an indirect Democracy with safeguard. However, the people are still supposed to be in charge and our votes are supposed to count for something.

Instead of a system ruled by people, they now tell us that democracy is system that can rule over people, if the people don't vote correctly. I don't think any form of "democracy" is defined by the System taking precedent over the will of the people.

The people voted and now the Democrats want to call the "System Itself" Democracy. You will respect they System, not the People.

If you don't respect the vote of the people, then don't call it a Democracy. Just be honest, Trump is attacking the Bureaucracy that YOU believe is more important than the will of the people. You believe that without the "Correct" Bureaucrats in charge that you won't get to push YOUR agenda.

Keep in mind that Democrats have ZERO problem purging Republicans from every government post possible each time they take over and they Cheer every single time it happens.

To reiterate, there is Always a Purge when a new administration takes over, Always, however, it's never been called an "End of Democracy" before now. And you may think the scope of this change is new, you would be wrong, major purges take place ever couple decades.

So what's so different this time or is this just Democrats grasping at straws, in an attempt to find a new Hitler line that the people might buy into? Well it is a bit different, but we will only know if it's really different a few years from now or if this too, is just window dressing.

For now it appears they are serious about not only purging officials and cleaning up entire departments but they also have no intention of replaced these officials with their own or that they are going to just reshuffle agencies.

Normally a Washington Purge is like kicking a tree full of monkeys, they don't leave the tree, they just jump to new branches, no big deal at all for the monkeys, they will bitch about it and throw some feces at you, but that's about it.

Now they are afraid that entire trees might be burnt down forcing them to run across the Savanna being chased by large cats like the rest of us poor creatures.

In short, they are afraid they will lose their jobs and not be able to just snap their fingers and find a new one. This will mean that all the money and power they have accumulated will slip from their fingers, so of course they are mad at the people and want to ignore this vote and instead defend The System.

If you ignore the vote and protect the Bureaucrats, you really should tread lightly because this is ground that has in fact been covered before many times in many places.

In a very real way we did just institute a new government, normally though, it's just some politicians who get shuffled around, this time we might just get a whole new government. Our old government had been subverted by the rule of Bureaucrats in a slow motion coup that has been on-going for decades.

The will of the people was no longer being carried out by our representatives. Instead we were being ruled be people who were not elected and yet they had the power of law enforcement carry out their "regulations", which carried the same effects as laws because of this arrangement.

Congress, our direct representatives, are supposed to make laws, not Bureaucrats, but if you tell bureaucrats that, you are now Attacking Democracy!!

We voted to abolish rule via Bureaucrat, I'm sorry if you didn't vote to end the "deep state" as almost every single MAGA person did and this scares you, but rest easy, the fearmongering is almost entirely Bullshit.

They don't want to lose their jobs so they are trying to scare the shit out of you, relax and enjoy the ride like the rest of us are. The un-elected Bureaucrats who have slowly but surely taken over every aspect of American life are getting their wings clipped, in the end it's just going to save you money and less of them will be able to make your life miserable by playing God.
