Who Let the DOGE Out?

It’s a fair assessment Liberals/Democrats have taken the lead in disintegrating civility and statesmanship among the Ruling Class with bruisingly aggressive behavior seen through every news cycle. Why? Because Democrats market themselves as the Party of the Working Class, the Blue Collar and Union member’s friend where a knuckle sandwich is a feature, not a fault, while Republicans are the Party of the Raised Pinky set? Is that it? Maybe.

But the vitriol pouring from Democrats even before the dysfunctional Biden years, is beyond ugly and corrosive; it is revealing. Democrats have successfully trashed any semblance of civil debate or disagreement, instead deploying extreme emotional eruptions, repulsive rhetoric, bald-faced lies, and obscene ad homonyms. They offer nothing in the pursuit of Freedom, Liberty, or something arcane like respecting the Rule of Law and Constitutional principles. Unchallenged power and control is their only goal. Like Middle East terrorists, they use children, women, and the elderly as shields against incoming arguments that will expose their true motives. When all else fails, Scorched Earth is their preferred option. The twin peaks of Power and Control are their ‘hills to die on’ as long as the opposition dies, too, but Liberalism survives. National Unity is only worthwhile if Liberals and Progressives reign supreme.

There was a time when journalists were instructed to be curious, objective, and honest. In our “divided nation”, even modest reunification will be delayed as long as my former media colleagues choose to ignore these utilitarian ideals, preferring the ratings-grabbing practice of excoriating the competition in the most derisive ways possible. Highlighting the outrageous bimbos of “The View”, clips of CNN’s firmly embedded liberal bias, and predictable got’cha questions on Sunday “News” Shows, is certainly entertaining, but questionably constructive. It tends to demean News as a vital commodity, often insulting the intelligence rather than informing the news consumer. However, it does faithfully reward a viewer’s prurient interests disguised as useful information; content is the setup for hypocrisy’s punch line.

The same must be said for the programmed antics of the Ruling Elite. As long as they and their dangerous games must be endured, comity must take precedence over scoring points on the MSM’s Evening Mud Fights. Credibility, productivity, Human Rights, and the nation’s future are in play. It doesn’t get more important than this.

OK - I get it. It’s all “Show Biz”, trading a modicum of information for grins and giggles (when your side’s winning), shock and awe when it’s not. In its current form, is “The News” a constructive service dispensing honest information, being the ‘watchdogs at the gate’ warning citizens of tyrannical government actions and obscene government waste? Not so much. That mission left the dock decades ago and, immediately, the Ship of State began taking on water. But rather than allegorically manning the bilge pumps with honest information, News crews are still charting a course to the rocks to finish the job while the Congressional deck band plays on. The lawfare and warfare leading up to the Nov. 5 Trump blow out taught them nothing.

Who Let The DOGE Out?

Maybe this is a reach but will Alt Media be the ‘voice of reason’ and bridge the credibility chasm between Ds and Rs? Or will the crowd always cheer for lions or gladiators? Is Trump/Musk the tag team of America’s salvation? Will meaningful spending cuts, tariffs, deregulation, and a factually smaller government be the doable solution to America’s unimaginable national debt? Can Deep State corruption be revealed and eviscerated by the bright-light algorithms of the DOGE Boys? My anonymous sources inside the Logic Free Zone tell me there has been a sudden spike in elevated blood pressure, shortened fingernails, and soiled underwear since the Orange Tornado and his sidekick Musty Musk let the DOGE out. Or is this just the Season of the Low Hanging Fruit? The sheer size and number of Agencies, Committees, NGOs, “grants” run by thousands of career personnel perfectly comfortable with their decades of self-serving larceny put Swamp Draining right up there with Augean Stable Cleaning. While I wish him well, Elon is no Hercules.

Then again, maybe he is. Maybe savvy computer kids with swift-boat computers running roto-rooter algos, the brains to run them accurately, and the wind of the White House at their back will effectively apply the solutions quickly - and save the day and the country.

While that would beat the hell out of putting up with playground fighting and name-calling as ‘governance’, semantics still maintains when confronting Liberty, Justice, and Freedom, “Government” is a dirty word, “a dangerous servant and a fearful master”.

The fraternal twins Hopeful and Skeptical are still residing rent-free in my mind’s Presidential Suite.
