Half the people in California disapprove, if not hate, Governor Gavin Newsom. The poll is from Nov. 2023. I bet even more disapprove of him now. California is a mess.
So, I think people see the hypocrisy in the politicians and bureaucrats just fine.
I don't want anybody to "govern" me or anybody else. And someone might be a "threat to democracy"? Good. Democracy and other forms of statism are threats to human decency and human flourishing.
DCS, All of my California in-laws are Democrats but for one Republican. All of them are threats to human decency and flourishing. They all also, piss me off. Moochers every one and they love to tell others what to do.
If I had to describe Californians in one sentence, I'd say, "Californians love to tell you what to do, but won't listen to a word from you."
I've never been to California, and with what's become of the place in the past five years, I have no intention of venturing there. Then again, I live in the Democratic People's Republic of New Jersey, so I'm under no delusions that anyone wants to visit my neck of the swamp 🤣
DCS, I lived in Mendham, NJ in 1973-74. That's when I worked on the Joey Filiberto garbage trucks. I liked NJ, but then again, I only had one day off a week and couldn't do much looking around. The golf course at Roxiticus is gorgeous! I played there a few Sundays. A shame that the old clubhouse burned down. They had Heineken on tap. Delicious!
