Above is the link to the assassination of Huey P. Long. Start at the 5:26:00 mark. Huey went after the hot-blooded Creoles of St. Landry Parish in Louisiana who hated Huey Long. That was a mistake.

Never mess with the Creoles.

12 years in Baton Rouge/N.O. provided enough Huey for me to do my own doc! If I didn't mention it, the father of the dude most responsible for my transfer to LSU was one of Huey's campaign managers. He had stories!

Brian, I bet that campaign manager had some great Huey Long stories. Huey was a tireless promoter of LSU. I wonder if there is a statue of Huey on the campus. I love how the statue of Huey Long faces the capitol building in Baton Rouge as if Huey is still in charge of the place.

Big campus but I never saw a Huey there. Being a big LSU promoter probably wasn't good enough to outshine his other "endeavors" and make a statue acceptable to the Board.

Brian, Oh, how ungrateful the LSU Board has become. Huey doubled the size of LSU and built the football stadium.

Big whoop. Campus bigger. Ditto Death Valley. What has he done for us lately?

LOL! Typical college authorities. My Dad was on the Science Board at Notre Dame for over 25 years after he retired from business. Dad was always trying to get Notre Dame to part with some of its Alumni Fund (billions of dollars in it) to build a new Science Building on campus. (It was finally built a few years ago.)

Dad would ask the Holy Cross priest he dealt with on the Science Board, "Father Murphy, Why can't we get the money to build the Science Building? What exactly is the Notre Dame Alumni Fund for?"

"Well, Jim, 'Twould be easier for me to explain the Holy Trinity than to answer your question."

Yes, great article. The fourth estate, the press, has let us all down. The government used to threaten and jail the press. Now it buys them. Sad situation.

Thank goodness for the writers you mention, including yourself, that keep the light of liberty and truth alive.
